Pupil Premium

Schools are allocated additional funding called a Pupil Premium according to the number of pupils in receipt of free school meals. It is a requirement for schools to report on how they have spent their Pupil Premium and the impact of this.

Boxgrove's allocation 2019/2020 was £17, 160 and in 2020/2021 is likely to be £26,930

The pupil premium has been used to support families with costs for school trips including the residential trip.

The allocation for 2019/20 was further spent on raising the quality of teaching through providing extra staff in the Early Years and Key Stage 1.

The impact of last year is hard to define, due to partial school closures in March as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic. However, the attendance of pupils entitled to Pupil Premium funding has remained high on the return to school in September.

The allocation for 2020/2021 will be used to identify and address the gaps in pupils’ skills and knowledge, as a result of the pandemic and ensure that all children have access to high quality remote learning and the equipment to enable them to do this.

Individual support for children will be arranged following regular pupil progress meetings which may include support for well-being such as nurture groups.
