Introduction
Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you will find the information
helpful in understanding our ethos as well as the general life and work
of our school.
We believe that the children who join our school should feel they exist
in a secure, happy and caring environment guided by adults who invest
time in dealing sensitively with each individual and developing strong
working partnerships with parents. We foster a family atmosphere
throughout the school sharing concerns and celebrating success in an
inclusive environment free from prejudice; a place where everyone,
irrespective of their race, colour, ethnic or national origin, physical
or academic ability feels welcomed and valued.
Through close teamwork and effective communication we aim to provide a
consistent approach to pastoral care enabling the children to work,
learn and play in a positive and welcoming environment based on mutual
trust and respect. The children are taught the importance of caring for
everyone and understand that the school expects the highest standards of
behaviour, appearance and manners of everyone in the school community.
We aim to develop a close partnership with you as parents as soon as
possible. As well as providing regular communication, the school
welcomes you into the community by creating opportunities for you to
become actively involved in your child’s education. We welcome voluntary
helpers to the classrooms, help with school visits and school clubs.
We hope your association with Boxgrove School will be happy and
memorable.
We aim to:
-
Ensure every child
succeeds. Provide an inclusive education within a culture of high
expectations.
-
Make learning vivid and
real. Develop understanding through enquiry.
-
Make learning a
challenging and enjoyable experience.
-
Encourage children to
stretch themselves to reach aspirations and achievements far beyond
their thinking.
